Springfield IL Area Chapter, Association for Women
in Communications
The Springfield AWC Chapter
is a professional organization of women and men
in the communications fields, located in central Illinois. Our members are represented in the following
professions: advertising, association communications,
community relations, corporate communications, government
communications, freelance/entrepreneurship, graphic design,
health communications, marketing/public relations, and many
others. Benefits of membership include networking opportunities,
educational programs, job bank and monthly chapter
meetings.

Students: $15; AWC members: $15; Non-members: $18
The AWC Springfield Chapter is now soliciting
applications for its annual scholarship award.
The $1,000 scholarship is made possible by an initial grant from the
Sara Lee Corp. and is open to juniors, seniors or graduate students
majoring in communications, journalism, public relations or related
fields with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a scale of 4.0.
Application deadline is
Friday, March 12, 2010 and the winner
will be announced no later than Friday, May 7, 2010.
